You Likely Know Your Burgular

January 20, 2018 /

There is a good chance that the thief who entered your property while you were away is someone known to you.  That’s right, a recent survey in the United States indicated that 66% of residential break-ins were conducted by a neighbour, distant friend, relative or an acquaintance.   They know better than a stranger when you are on vacation or away for an extended period of time.  So be careful sharing information about your travel plans.  Many vacationing people post photos on Facebook  showing the great times in tropical locales.  Think about who might be viewing your pics or sharing them.  Thieves are opportunists. Often they are motivated by the need to feed an addiction.  Be careful with whom you are sharing your travel plans.
